Celebrate the end of the year in style at SIMSA Prom!

On April 10th at 8pm in the University Club, don’t miss prom, SIMSA-style! Balloons, streamers, 80s/90s tunes, and more will help set the mood for celebration. Dress code is prom chic, or whatever you feel comfortable in. Tickets are just $10 for students, $20 for faculty, and can be purchased from Andrea, Maria, or Hannah.

Got a song you want to hear? Music recommendations can be sent to Kat Felix, Elizabeth O’Brien, or Jenna Knorr.

Please join us in exploring the original research projects undertaken by INFO 5520 student this term!

Research is an essential tool for discovering new information about the world.
Each individual or group of students in Research Methods this term has negotiated research ethics and design, structured research questions, conducted a literature review, and collected and analyzed original data. We hope to see you at the INFO 5520 Conference Presentations on the morning of April 11!

DJIM Launch Party – April 7

The journal was a success this year thanks to the support of Faculty of Management students and student associations (like SIMSA!). This year, DJIM will be publishing a selection of peer-reviewed academic articles written by graduate students in the School of Information Management and the School of Public Administration.

Come to support your classmates, to hear about the Open Access movement, get an overview of the articles published, and learn how to become involved.

Refreshments will be provided.

Clothing Swap – April 2

Are you looking for an inexpensive way to get some new clothes for spring, interview season, or our Prom-themed year end party? If so, you’re in luck! On Thursday, April 2nd, from Noon-2 SIMSA will be hosting a Clothing Swap in the Common Room.
Bring a Toonie & your clean, gently used business casual or “dress-up” items on the day of, and trade them in for something that is new to you!
Surplus clothing will be donated to Dress for Success Halifax.

SIMSA Outstanding Service Award – March 20

Nominations are currently being accepted for SIMSA’s Outstanding Achievement Award!

Please nominate a graduating student who has made outstanding contributions to student life by giving time to extra-curricular activities, helping others, making thoughtful contributions in the classroom, and demonstrating an ability to be a team player. Email your nomination to JoAnn Watson by March 20 – the person with the highest number of nominations wins.
