SPA Public Lecture – March 17

“Making a Difference: Considering a Career in Canada’s Dynamic
Non-profit Sector”

The School of Public Administration welcomes you to attend a public lecture on Tuesday, March 17 at 4:00 in Rowe 3089.

Marcel Lauzière, a national leader in the non-profit sector in Canada, will be on hand to provide you with insights and advice on launching a rewarding career in the country’s non-profit sector – a sector made up of approximately 170,000 charitable organizations that employ more than two million Canadians.

LWB/ACA Book Sale – March 27 & 30

Dalhousie’s student chapter of Librarians Without Borders, and the Association for Canadian Archivists, will be holding their annual book sale on Friday, March 27 and Monday, March 30. The sale will take place on the main floor of the Student Union Building.

Donations are currently being accepted in the common room.

ACA Tour – March 18

Tour of the Nova Scotia Archives

The Dalhousie student chapter of the Association for Canadian Archivists has organized a tour of the Nova Scotia Archives on Wednesday, March 18. The tour starts at 1:00, but you can meet the group in the Rowe Atrium at 12:45.

The SIMSA AGM will take place March 17, 2015 in the SIM Common Room at noon. Join us as we discuss the past year, goals for the upcoming year, and elect the 2015-16 executive team. The positions that are to be elected are:

•   Co-Chairs
•   VP Academic
•   VP Non-Academic
•   Financial Officer
•   Communications Officer
•   IWB Chair

Halifax Camerata Fundraiser – March 25 (Draw Date)

Halifax Camerata Singers presents A Time for All Things

To assist in SIMSA fundraising, Dr. Bertrum MacDonald has generously donated 2 tickets to an upcoming show for the choir he performs in, the Halifax Camerata Singers. The show, entitled A Time for All Things, will take place March 28 at Saint Benedict Parish (45 Radcliffe Drive, Halifax).

Entries into the draw are just $2 for the chance to win 1 of 2 tickets. Entries can be made with either Andrea Kampen or Hannah Steeves. The draw date for this contest is March 25. Money raised will be used for SIMSA events, such as the end of semester celebration.
